Academic achievement honored
Two La Jolla athletic teams will be honored for academic performance on June 8.
The CIF San Diego Section announced Tuesday that the La Jolla High boys tennis team, with a cumulative GPA of 3.71, and The Bishop’s School girls lacrosse team, with a 3.72 average, were among the schools recognized for “effort in academic success and earning the highest unweighted grade point average by all members of the team.”
The press release recognized the players as well as the faculty, staff and coaches for the achievement. Teams will be nominated for state recognition.
Other area teams to be saluted at the CIF Board of Managers meeting are San Diego Jewish Academy’s baseball team (3.70) and Francis Parker’s boys golf team (3.64). La Jolla Country was also considered, the release noted.
