‘Start a Business’ class

The North San Diego Small Business Development Center holds a free workshop, “Steps to Starting a Business,” from 1:15-4:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the center, 2075 Las Palmas Drive. Register by Tuesday. This two-part workshop is designed to address the actual risk(s) involved in franchise and business ownership vs a traditional career. Veteran job fair

The Honor a Hero, Hire a Vet Job and Resource Fair will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday at the Vista Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive. More than 100 employers and resources will be on hand. Deadline extended

The Oceanside Public Library has extended the deadline for its Request for Proposals for a consultant to review the library’s literacy services for English-speaking adults, or adult literacy services. Shop Vista campaign

The Vista Chamber of Commerce and the Vista Village Business Association present “ShopVISTA & Win!” For every $5 of sales tax dollars generated at Vista retailers between now and Dec. 21, participants will receive a free ticket to win a prize. Just present receipts from retailers within the city of Vista at the Vista Chamber to be entered.
