The San Diego Sports Medicine Foundation held its 17th annual Taste at the Cove, Aug. 29, bringing food, fashion, one-of-a-kind auction items and professional athletes together to raise funds for a medical safety net for injured youth with limited financial means. In addition to the festivities, Taste at the Cove honored one of the greatest tennis players of all time, Rod Laver , as well as Larry Duensing, who recently retired after 20 years as the Athletic Trainer for Carlsbad High School. Laver lives in Carlsbad and supports Hospice of North Coast, where his wife passed away in 2012, Susan G. Komen and the Southern California Tennis Association.
