The first La Jolla High School drama department presentation of the year is “The Diary of Anne Frank,” on stage 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5, and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9 and 7 p.m. Thursday Nov. 10 at Parker Auditorium, 750 Nautilus St.
It is also the first production under the direction of new drama teacher, Stacey Allen (read more about Allen in the Nov. 10 issue of La Jolla Light). The production tells the famed story of a young Jewish girl and her family, who in 1942, were forced to hide in an attic apartment in Amsterdam for nearly two years to escape Nazi persecution. The Pultizer-Prize winning play premiered in 1955.
Tickets, available by contacting Allen at firstname.lastname@example.org or ljhstheatre.com, are $10, students and seniors $7. The Nov. 9 show is pay-what-you-can.
