Movie Time Flicks on the Bricks film-and-wine series presents “La Jollans of Noir” with vintage crime thrillers starring actors with a La Jolla connection.

Accompanying the La Jolla Historical Society’s “History in Motion: Devices & Wizardry in Early Cinema” exhibit, “Movies by Moonlight” is a short film festival with live music by curator Scott Paulson’s Teeny Tiny Pit Orchestra, 8 p.m.
With a history dating back to 1968, the La Jolla Music Society (LJMS) has operated from several venues during the last half century, including Athenaeum Music & Arts Library and the recently demolished Sherwood Auditorium, eliminated during the renovations at Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego’s La Jolla campus.
La Jolla Music Society has a lot going on this season, and its SummerFest — an annual event since 1986 — has a new music director, Inon Barnatan, who is infusing the popular festival with energy and excitement.
