“The living nature in San Diego inspires me every day,” said artist Leticia Demeuse. “Whether it’s the array of colors in a sunset or the fresh ocean breeze, North County continues to inspire me.”
Although she has lived in other beautiful places, such as Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, San Diego is where Demeuse currently feels most inspired and continues to hone her artist voice, while raising her 8-year-old son Jordan with her husband, Eddie. Her work has been featured in national and international magazines and is collected by clients all over the Unites States and Brazil. Her paintings — which usually consist of large, original abstracts — are primarily acrylics known for capturing the essence of color, texture and light.
Demeuse has partnered with Nativa Interiors and often works closely with its clients to create commissioned art.
“It’s so rewarding to be part of an entire design project!” she explained. “For instance, when working with Nativa Interiors clients, I’m part of the project from the beginning to final installation. It gives me the opportunity to create something unique for a particular space and family, and knowing that the clients will enjoy that special piece of art for most of their lives is an amazing feeling!”
The artist said she travels regularly to South Brazil to paint and reconnect with her family and friends. Recently, she also found much inspiration while vacationing around Northern Italy.
“It’s hard not to get inspired while traveling,” Demeuse added. “The unique architecture and landscapes in Italy were breathtaking! It’s great to get to see new places and cultures, but in the end, I’m always ready to come back to beautiful San Diego.”
