UCSD basketball players heading for La Jolla Shores to promote team
Oct 28, 2009 By Jonathan Horn - La Jolla Light
Get ready to D-up, La Jolla Shores. This Halloween, the UCSD Women's Basketball team could literally be taking it to your house. But instead of sinking a layup or asking for a treat, the team will be knocking on neighborhood doors saying, "Trick or Triton."
It's all part of an effort to promote the upcoming 2009-10 season, where the nationally 10th ranked Tritons will look to defend their first place finish in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
In full uniform from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, pairs of teammates will canvas the La Jolla Shores neighborhood and give out free tickets and other informational treats. There will also be photo-ops with the players.
The Triton's open their home schedule against Biola Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. at Rimac Arena.
