Girls' water polo The Bishop's School continued its stellar season by winning the 40-team San Diego Open tournament last week.
The Knights beat Valley Center, 18-8, on Jan. 26, and later in the day topped Mt. Carmel, 13-2.
Bishop's fell to rival Coronado, 10-7, on Jan. 27, but bounced back with a 14-6 win over El Dorado on Jan. 30.
On Jan. 31, Bishop's eased past Fallbrook, 15-3, and then swam away from Cathedral Catholic, 13-6, in the semifinals.
Later that night, Bishop's topped Mt. Carmel for the championship, 13-3, led by Sarah Presant's five goals. Presant and Sammi Peck were named to the all-tournament team, and Dominique Sardo was selected the tournament MVP - she totaled 22 goals.
La Jolla High School went 3-2 in the Bonita Invitational in Orange County last week.
The Vikings beat Buena, 12-7, on Jan. 30, and later that day edged Bonita, 8-7.
On Jan. 31, they fell to St. Lucy's, 17-11. They rebounded later in the day with a 7-6 win over Royal of Simi Valley, and fell in their tournament finale that night, dropping a 9-7 decision to Ayala. Kate Woods led La Jolla's offensive effort, totaling 20 goals in the tournament. Sophia Gumina made 30 saves.
Boys' basketball La Jolla High School fell to Cathedral Catholic, 54-43, on Jan. 26.
La Jolla Country Day dropped an 86-72 decision to Crawford on Jan. 27. The Torreys fell to Francis Parker, 54-51, on Jan. 30.
The Bishop's School topped Army-Navy, 77-38, on Jan. 29.
Girls' basketball La Jolla High School dropped a 67-23 decision to Cathedral Catholic on Jan. 26.
La Jolla Country Day beat Desert Pines, 34-21, on Jan. 30. The Torreys fell to Bishop Gorman, 51-49, on Jan. 31.
Boys' soccer La Jolla Country Day secured a 3-1 win over San Dieguito Academy on Jan. 26. Ryan French, Alex Fleischhacker and Zach Wolfenzon each scored for thee Torreys. Wolfenzon's goal gave him 168 career points, breaking the school record.
The Torreys kicked to a 1-1 tie with Francis Parker on Jan. 30. After falling behind in the second half, Country Day got a goal from Kees Thompson.
La Jolla High School surged to a 5-1 win over Kearney on Jan. 26. The Vikings fell, 1-0, to Cathedral Catholic on Jan. 29.
Girls' soccer La Jolla High School topped University City, 4-1, on Jan. 26. The Vikings edged Our Lady of Peace, 2-0, on Jan. 30.

Wrestling La Jolla High School turned in some good results Jan. 30 and 31 at the Holtville tournament. Senior Jordan Dyer placed third at 152 pounds despite entering the tournament unseeded. After losing his first match, Dyer won the next five.
Roller hockey La Jolla Country Day skated past Mar Vista, 10-1, on Jan. 26, behind a five-goal effort from Ben Sweeney.
The Torreys continued to roll with a 4-1 win over St. Augustine on Jan. 28. Sweeney registered a natural hat trick.
