On Friday, Nov. 7, the San Diego Hall of Champions will host Sports at Lunch with Candice Wiggins.
Candice Wiggins, a La Jolla Country Day graduate, is a four-time All-American at Stanford. She was also named the 2007-08 National Player of the Year in women's college basketball. She is the first San Diego woman to win this award. It puts her in the company of Bill Walton, the only San Diego male named national player of the year in basketball.
This marks the first time a female athlete has been the featured speaker for Sports at Lunch. Councilman Scott Peters will present a proclamation for Wiggins.
