Boys basketball
La Jolla High School upended Scripps Ranch, 65-49, on Jan. 29 behind a 19-point, 15-rebound performance from forward Peter Sefton. Guards Jerrell Agnew and Spencer Moyer also contributed double-doubles, each scoring 13 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Matt Jones chipped in with eight points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists.

The Vikings fell to University City, 48-45, on Feb. 1. Sefton led the Vikings with 14 points, but they were outscored, 17-5, in the fourth quarter and suffered their first Western League defeat this season. La Jolla moved to 17-6 overall and 8-1 in Western League play.

La Jolla Country Day dropped a 64-42 decision to Francis Parker on Jan. 30. Dennis Roth scored 17 points in the defeat, and Jvonte Brooks added 14.

The Bishop's School fell to Horizon Christian, 58-48, on Jan. 30 despite Jywrell Wilson's 25 points and David Stotlemyre's 12.

Bishop's secured an easy 91-51 victory over city and league rival La Jolla Country Day on Feb. 1. Wilson lit up the scoreboard with 37 points, while Stotlemyre and Malik love each scored 14 and Corey Malkiewicz contributed 10.

Girls basketball
La Jolla Country Day secured a 68-52 victory over Francis Parker on Jan. 30. Janae Fulcher poured in 29 points and added 12 rebounds. Cheslea Burns also had a double-double, scoring 12 points and adding 10 rebounds. Lindsay Nettinga scored 10 points, and Dominique Conners had nine.

Country Day edged city and league rival The Bishop's School, 69-67, on Feb. 1. Fulcher again led the way with a dominating effort, scoring 27 points and adding 13 rebounds. Conners had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Ariana Elegado scored 13 points, and Burns scored 10.

For Bishop's, Gizelle Studevant scored 22 points, and Elaina White and Inga Orekhova each scored 17.

Bishop's toppled Horizon Christian, 66-44, on Jan. 30 thanks to 16-point, eight-rebound efforts from White and Orekhova.

The Knights fell to Perris, 101-92, on Feb. 2 despite getting 19 points from Studevant and 27 from Michelle Brunker. Alissa Campanero added 15 points in the defeat, and Mia Montanile had 10.

La Jolla High School beat Scripps Ranch, 44-41, on Jan. 28. The Vikings fell to University City, 48-44, on Feb. 1.

Boys soccer
La Jolla Country Day secured a 2-0 win over Francis Parker on Jan. 29, toppling the two-time defending CIF-San Diego Section division champion and improving to 14-5-1 and 4-0 in Coastal League South play. Zack Wolfenzon scored both goals for the Torreys, and Kyle Reese recorded a shutout in goal.

The Bishop's School won a city rivalry game with La Jolla Country Day on Feb. 1, 3-0. The Knights beat Horizon Christian by a 5-0 score on Jan. 29.

La Jolla High School fell to Cathedral Catholic, 3-1, on Jan. 28.

Girls soccer
La Jolla High School toppled Christian, 3-0, on Jan. 31, improving to 14-1-2 this season and 3-1-2 in Western League matches.

La Jolla Country Day fell to Francis Parker, 3-0, on Jan. 29.

The Bishop's School secured a 2-0 win over local rival La Jolla Country Day on Jan. 31.
The Knights also shut out Horizon Christian, 5-0, on Jan. 29. Annie Kadota scored two goals, while Stevie Griglak, Frances Harvey and Lindsey Holman Kelly each scored once.

Girls water polo
The Bishop's School swam past neighborhood rival La Jolla High School, 6-4, on Jan. 28. Zinnea Alexander led the Knights with three goals, along with two steals and four ejections drawn. Sarah Presant added two scores.
Bishop's suffered a 9-2 defeat to Coronado on Jan. 30.

The Knights bounced back, though, by winning the 48-team San Diego Open tournament over the weekend.

On Jan. 31, Bishop's beat Rancho Bernardo, 9-3, and toppled Fountain Valley, 10-4.
The Knights eased past Bonita Vista, 14-5, on Feb. 1 thanks to six goals from Alexander and three each from Presant and Sammi Peck.

On Feb. 2, Bishop's swam past University City, 14-5, and then beat Valley Center, 16-3 in the tournament semifinal. The Knights wrapped up the championship game with a 10-9 triple overtime win over Fountain Valley. Alexander and Dominique Sardo, who were named tournament co-MVPs, each scored three goals. Knights goalie Julia Eichenfield was also named to the all-tournament team.

Wrestling
La Jolla High School toppled University City, 50-20, on Jan. 30, concluding the regular season with a 4-3 record ˆ the program's first winning record in four years. The Vikings had league champions in sophomore Joey Bruder, at 119 pounds, and senior Tyler Rohr, at 140.

On Feb. 2, the Vikings had three wrestlers medal at the San Ysidro tournament. Sophomore David Blasquez placed third at 215 pounds, while Bruder and Rohr each were fourth in their weight classes.
