SK Sanctuary is a full-service health retreat combining an array of medical and day spa services at their convenient location. SK Clinic is at 528 Nautilus St., and SK Sanctuary is nearby at 6919 La Jolla Blvd.
Owners Stephen M. Krant, M.D., F.A.C.S., and Lyn Tisdale Krant were recently honored by the Latino Business Women’s Assocation’s San Diego chapter as the Business Enterprise of the Year. They received the award, in part, for being “an industry model with notable contributions to community service,” according to a press release.
The Krants also operate a nonprofit foundation “dedicated to raising awareness and funds to provide education and support to those who live with disease,” according to its website,
Dr. Krant, CEO of SK Clinic, has 32 years of experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery, and his wife Lyn is chief operating officer of SK Sanctuary, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary in January.
He described the clinic’s services during a recent interview: “We do the whole gamut of cosmetic surgery, facial and aesthetic, reconstruction, breast reductions and augmentations, liposuction and liposculpture and second-stage breast reconstruction.”
At the adjacent SK Sanctuary, there are 12 treatment rooms offering massages, mud and herbal baths, salt scrubs, Botox and fillers, cellulite treatment and a host of other spa services. The spa features an upstairs juice bar, indoor and outdoor patio space along with men’s and women’s locker rooms with steam showers.
Tisdale Krant added, “As a medical spa, we can do certain treatments that other day spas can’t,” citing laser, acne and precancerous lesion treatments as examples.
Whether their clients are recovering from surgery or staying at the La Valencia or another hotel in town, said, “We try to make it as special an experience as we can for each individual.”
