Homeless woman stabbed in Sherman Heights tent

A 27-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with serious wounds early Saturday after she was stabbed with a knife several times during an argument with a fellow transient in a tent along 19th Street near Imperial Avenue in Sherman Heights.

San Diego police are looking for man described as white or Hispanic in his 30s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build, wearing a dark tank-top, dark shorts, a black hat and a camouflaged backpack, a sergeant said.

The incident was reported at 1:12 a.m., according to police. The woman’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
