Two motorists suffered serious leg fractures Wednesday night when their vehicles crashed head-on in the Clairemont Mesa West area, police said.
The crash, reported at 7:56 p.m., happened in the 3400 block of Boyd Avenue when an 18-year-old man driving an Acura Integra southbound tried to pass another vehicle, San Diego police Officer David Stafford said.
The Integra crashed into a northbound Toyota Corolla driven by a 67-year-old man, Stafford said.
Both drivers were taken to local hospitals with broken femurs, Stafford said.
Each driver had one passenger in his car and they sustained minor injuries, Stafford said.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, Stafford said.
