Downtown San Diego nightclub impresario Mike Viscuso, who bought and is renovating the former Jack's La Jolla site at 7863 Girard Ave., said he intends to hire as many as 500 people for his new restaurant-bar once he's finished remodeling it this fall.
"When it's about 80 percent finished with the remodel, I'm going to have a job fair on the site and hire about 500 people - 300 part time and 200 full time," said Viscuso, who has said that he would like to open Mike's for Halloween this year.
He said he's planning "two casual dining concepts and a fine dining concept with an entertainment element."
A nightclub owner and restaurateur, he also has ownership interest in On Broadway, belo and Deco's nightclubs in downtown San Diego and clubs in Hollywood and Long Beach.
Those interested in information about job opportunities in the new establishment should call Joe Costa at (619) 231-0011.
