UCSD plans family event

UCSD's Family Weekend on Oct. 23-25 will include a visit to the Birch Aquarium, faculty lectures, a "Green Eggs and Ham" Brunch and Comedy Night at the Loft.

Held annually on all 10 UC campuses, the weekend is intended as a welcome for new students, their parents and their families, as well as an embrace for returning students and families.

Also on the agenda are:
Oct. 23: The Chancellor's Challenge 5K run/walk along tree-shaded campus paths to benefit undergraduate scholarships.
Oct. 24: Family photos in front of the iconic Stuart Collection public sculptures.
Oct. 25: An ArtPower! performance by the Emerson String Quartet in the new Conrad Prebys Music Center.
