Two hundred screaming undergrad fans gathered on the play yard of Stella Maris Academy to support the 8th grade class in its final match in Bat Ball. This time, facing their fiercest competition yet - "Team Erickson," their faculty and staff.
Even hardcore Bat Ball alumni returned to play. Mike Erickson, the 8th grade teacher at SMA for over 30-years introduced the school to this curious game that requires a regulation baseball bat and a rubber ball - it's easier on the cars parked on Kline Avenue from the balls that fly into the sky over the fence.
The final score--8th graders 17; Team Erickson, 13. Win or lose, an exciting time was had by all.
