Tarbuton celebrates three years The Tarbuton will offer a program for children and another for adults at this year's "San Diego Celebrates Israel," the United Jewish Foundation's annual festival, on May 3.
The school plans a "Shaat Sipur" story time in Hebrew for children and a Hebrew social meeting called Cafe v'Ivrit for adults.
Jennie Starr organizes the Tarbuton, a Hebrew language cultural program for children and adults, which meets in La Jolla, Carmel Valley and Encinitas.
The Tarbuton recently celebrated its third year in existence.
Starr said many of the Tarbuton's participants are more interested in cultural activities than they are religious, but are also involved in activities with local synagogues and Jewish Day Schools families.
