UCSD Health Sciences and Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development LLC have signed memorandum of understanding to collaborate on biomedical research, medicine and public health.
The agreement sets up a framework for research and training programs between the pharmaceutical company and the university's medical school, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science and the university medical system.
Included is a contract for Larry Brunton, a professor or pharmacology, to conduct studies evaluating the effects of new compounds on heart tissues.
