Christopher "Kip" Burn will talk about the prospects for a Democratic victory at Sunday's meeting of the La Jolla Democratic Club.
The meeting runs from 2 to 4 p.m. at the La Jolla Riford Library, 7775 Draper Ave. Byrne is a partner in Bates and Byrne, in Washington, D.C., and led the investigation resulting in the imprisonment of Charles Keating at Lincoln Savings and Loan, and the investigation of Neil Bush.
The club is also planning a fundraiser for City Attorney Mike Aguirre from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 20 at the home of Harle Montgomery, 1660 Torrey Pines Road.
