UCSD researchers reported this week that patients who received cannabis for generalized pain associated with HIV had more relief than those given a placebo.
The study involving 28 patients who were outpatients at the UCSD Medical Center was led by Ronald J. Ellis, M.D., Ph.D. Patients were evaluated over seven weeks.
The results, which the release said are consistent with other recent research, were published Wednesday, Aug. 6, in the journal "Neuropsychopharmacology."
