The San Diego Police Foundation and San Diego Police Department officers invite citizens to an interactive "Inside SDPD" program from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 12, at Miramar College.
The suggested donation is $20 per person ($15 for senior citizens and students over 18).
Registration is available online, e-mail info@sdpolicefoundation.org, or by calling (858) 453-5060. Registration deadline is July 9.
Participants will have a unique opportunity to test their law enforcement mettle in use-of-force, vehicle stop and firearms training scenarios. Executive Police Assistant Chief David Ramirez and some of "America's Finest" police officers will participate.
The program is part of the Foundation's outreach efforts to foster greater understanding between the community and law enforcement officers.
Founded in 1998, the San Diego Police Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, has been benefiting communities through public safety and law enforcement solutions. It has awarded grants totaling more than $2.8 million through the support of individuals, service organizations and businesses. The grants are filling training, equipment and program needs vital to law enforcement efficiency.
