Strong gusty winds and low humidity will pose an increased risk of wildfire in the mountains of San Diego County Wednesday, forecasters said.
The National Weather Service declared a fire weather watch from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
East winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts of 60 mph, were likely in the local mountains, the Weather Service warned.
Elsewhere, a high wind warning — denoting a forecast of sustained wind speeds of 40 miles per hour, with gusts of 58 mph or greater — will be in effect from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Santa Ana Mountains, which jut into northern San Diego County.
