Three San Diego congressional representatives on Monday saluted the military and President Barack Obama for the operation that resulted in the death of al- Qaida leader Osama bin Laden.

"Osama bin Laden's death at the hands of American forces is a fitting end to the world's most notorious terrorist," said Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Vista.

"The killing of bin Laden should serve as a reminder that those who engage in

terrorism should not expect to meet justice at a day in court, but rather at any second of any night wherever they may try to hide.''

Rep. Susan Davis, D-San Diego, said bin Laden's demise brings "a collective resolve to put an end to terrorists that seek to undo our freedoms.'"

Rep. Brian Bilbray, R-Carlsbad, called bin Laden's death "a great victory."

"Former President (George) Bush, President Obama, the men and women of the armed forces and especially the United States special forces should be commended for their bravery and determination to seek justice no matter how

long it takes,'' Bilbray said.

Both Davis and Issa stressed there is still a lot of work ahead in the fight against terrorists.

Two other San Diego area congressmen, Bob Filner, D-San Diego, and Duncan D. Hunter, El Cajon, did not release statements on bin Laden's death.
