Try out special three-course, prix-fixe meals at more than 180 restaurants during San Diego Restaurant Week, Sept. 19-24. Prices are per person and do not include beverage, tax or gratuity.

Held twice annually (the next event is Jan. 16-21, 2011), and marking its seventh year, this culinary tradition features San Diego's best restaurants offering three-course meals for $20, $30 or $40.

There are no tickets or passes required. But advance reservations are strongly recommended and can be made by calling participating restaurants directly or by visiting their profile online.

San Diego Restaurant Week was launched in 2003 by the California Restaurant Association's San Diego County Chapter with the intention of spotlighting the city as a premier dining destination.

Food lovers may dine out at as many restaurants as they like during San Diego Restaurant Week to explore new dining opportunities or enjoy old favorites.

Among the La Jolla restaurants participating with special menus at press time are: The Marine Room, The Shores Restaurant, La Jolla Strip Club, Donovan's Steak & Chop House, George's at the Cove, Nine-Ten, Roy's, Tapenade, The Steakhouse at Azul, Whisknladle, Roppongi, Trattoria Acqua.
