Geisel is honorary chair of benefit ball

La Jolla philanthropist Audrey Geisel has been a driving force in the community for years, lending support to numerous institutions and charitable causes. Recently, Geisel was the Honorary Chair of "Renaissance Ball VI," a black-tie fundraiser for Scripps Clinic and Scripps Green Hospital. The elegant reception and dinner, held at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine, was billed as a celebration of "the limitless power of imagination."

Proceeds from the festive evening were earmarked to fund "an updated, sophisticated, and intuitive wayfinding signage system, to help patients and their families navigate through the Scripps Clinic and Scripps Green Hospital campus with ease and efficiency."

Not surprisingly, locals turned out in droves for the occasion. The Honorary Committee included Sima and Dr. Parviz Foroozan, Jean Kellogg, Dr. Robert Sarnoff (President Scripps Clinic Medical Group), Susan and Dr. Eric Topol, Eunice and Dr. Gary Williams, and Burl and Bill Mackenzie. Karen Gabsch chaired the event and Nan Pratt was sponsorship chair.

The large guest list included Alex Butterfield, Lauren and Derrick Cartwright, Marye Anne Fox and Jim Whitesell, Charles and Viviana Polinsky, Sheryl and Harvey White, Larry Harrison (Chief Executive Scripps Clinic), Debbie and Dr. Mitchell Friedlaender, Eli and Diana Lombrozo, Jere and Joyce Oren, Thomas and Vera Sickinger, Barbara Wilcox-Joy, Chris Van Gorder (President & CEO of Scripps) and his wife Rosemary and Dr. Robert Sarnoff (President Scripps Clinic Medical group).
