The Alzheimer's Association will present three free programs at the La Jolla Library, 7555 Draper.
The first, "Understanding Alzheimer's Disease," will be at 1:30 p.m. March 1 to explain what is known about the disease, the warning signs and symptoms, and how the association can help with services.
The second, "Memory Matters," will be 1:30 p.m. April 6. After attending this workshop, participants will be able to identify types of memory, recognize mental changes common with aging, learn memory exercises, and understand strategies for improving memory.
The last program will be "How to Live a Healthy Lifestyle," 1:30 p.m. May 4, with steps that might reduce the risk of dementias: identifying brain healthy foods and understanding how exercise/social activities improve brain health.
