The San Diego Center for Children's annual dinner - The Magic of Music - was held June 18 at the US Grant Hotel. The center, founded in 1887, offers comprehensive day and residential treatment programs for children with behavioral, emotional, social and educational issues.
Doreen Schonbrun chaired the event. Mayor Jerry Sanders and Rana Sampson, the San Diego Center for Children's new senior director of development and marketing, were honorary chairs. Bill Menish was master of ceremonies and auctioneer.
The evening honored Sundiata Kata, the center's music director, for his 40 years of service to the San Diego Center for Children.
