La Jolla Toastmasters celebrating 30th anniversary
Toastmasters of La Jolla is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year on Tuesday, June 3. All past members and interested persons are welcome to attend that meeting.

Refreshments will be provided. Founded on June 1, 1978, by Helen Blanchard, known as the "First Lady of Toastmasters," she was the first woman president of the La Jolla club. Blanchard then went on to be the first women President for Toastmasters International. After she was allowed to join, then the gates opened for women all over the world to join Toastmasters in their respective communities.

Toastmasters of La Jolla is a member club with Toastmasters International, a worldwide organization with over 10,500 clubs and over 200,000 members, in over 90 countries.
Toastmasters began in 1924 with a mission that remains the same today: To provide a mutually supportive positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

The club meets every Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. at the La Jolla Firehouse YMCA Engine Room, first floor. Everyone is welcome.
