A spokesman for San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders said Wednesday he expects progress to be made this year toward building a new downtown stadium for the San Diego Chargers. No fatal flaws have been found at the proposed site near Petco Park, according to mayoral spokesman Darren Pudgil. The site seems to be “the most feasible at this time,” Pudgil said.

Before a 24-hour extension, granted by the National Football League, was up late Tuesday, the local team had sold enough tickets to allow the game to be televised on Fox 5 San Diego, according to the Chargers.
