The San Diego Business Journal is reporting that Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs has joined an investor group trying to purchase the Sacramento Kings basketball team and build a new arena there. A Qualcomm spokesperson said the company does not have a comment regarding the news.
At the request of the Rules and Economic Development Committee, representatives from Time Warner Cable and Fox Sports San Diego today agreed to meet next week and discuss how best to reach a broadcast deal for Padres games. Council President Pro Tem Sherri Lightner, who serves as chair of the committee, called the special meeting because of repeated complaints she has heard from constituents about their inability to watch Padres games on television.

The event will take place the week of the Farmers Insurance Open, Thursday, Jan. 24 to Saturday, Jan. 26 with shuttle service, live music, art, shopping and fine dining for patrons. Festivities will begin after golf play each day.

Lina Ramos wasn’t much of a swimmer three years ago, but you wouldn’t know if you saw her in the water today. Earlier this month, Ramos not only finished another grueling Ironman triathlon, but this time, she was on the podium, placing third in her division at the event in Zurich, Switzerland.
