Tritons win first game at NCAA championship

The UC San Diego softball team beat C. W. Post (Long Island, N.Y.) on Thursday morning, 7-0, in the Tritons’ first game of the Division II National Championship.

Tritons season comes to an end


Alex Todd went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs and Kyle Jones finished with two hits and a run scored to lead No. 4 seed Sonoma State to an 8-5 victory over third-seeded Cal Poly Pomona in the NCAA Division II West Regional Championship game on Sunday afternoon at Triton Ballpark on the campus of UC San Diego.

Aztec football season tickets on sale Friday


Season tickets for the 2011 San Diego State Aztec football team will go on sale this Friday, May 20, at 9 a.m. PT. Packages start at just $66 and include reserved seats to all seven Aztec home games, the most regular-season home contests the team has played in a single year since 1995.

Five home runs and a strong pitching performance by Tim Shibuya led the seventh-ranked UC San Diego baseball team to a 9-6 win over Cal Poly Pomona in first round action of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Tournament Thursday at Klein Family Field on the campus of the University of the Pacific.

UC San Diego softball captures No.1 overall seed in West Region


The 16th-ranked UC San Diego softball team captured the No.1 overall seed in the West Region for the NCAA Division II Women’s Softball Championship, it was announced Sunday evening. The California Collegiate Athletic Association regular season champions will open the tournament against eighth-seeded Central Washington (33-14) on Friday at noon.

UC San Diego wins third straight CCAA title


The seventh-ranked UC San Diego baseball team not only recorded a convincing 10-4 win over Cal State San Bernardino Friday night, the Tritons also picked up their third consecutive California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) regular season title. A slew of seniors came up big on Senior Night at Triton Ballpark, including infielder Blake Tagmyer, who finished with five RBI.
