Rattlesnake reports up in San Diego County this spring

The number of rattlesnake calls to the County’s Department of Animal Services (DAS) has more than tripled compared to the same time period last year. Since Jan. 1, 2014 DAS has received 78 calls from the community. Last year, only 24 calls came in during that time frame.

High pertussis rates continue in San Diego County

The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency is reporting 22 new cases of pertussis last week (Feb. 10-15, 2014), including 8 cases at locations where others may have been exposed to the disease.
