Alessandro Hair Salon offers custom cuts, color and styles for almost three decades in La Jolla

Alessandro Hair Salon has been building a regular clientele in La Jolla since opening more than 28 years ago.

More than 28 years ago, Alessandro DeRobertis opened his eponymous hair salon at 7825 Fay Ave. in La Jolla with one goal in mind: to help his clients feel good about their appearance. Now, decades later, he still holds true to that goal.

La Jolla Open Aire Market marks 14th year with Harvest Festival on Sunday, Oct. 28

La Jolla Open Aire Market, a certified farmers market, will mark its 14th anniversary with a Harvest Festival, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 at La Jolla Elementary School, upper playground, Girard Avenue and Genter Street. Shoppers are invited to come in costume and there will be music, a balloon artist, cakewalk, carnival games, arts and crafts and prizes.

Historical Society acquires old deed to St. James by-the-Sea

The La Jolla Historical Society is now home to the original deed to St. James by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 743 Prospect St. The deed presentation took place Monday afternoon, Sept. 24.
