Local chefs have taken a stand to support fellow San Diegan chef Timothy Gutmann of Poseidon Restaurant in Del Mar in his fight against cancer.
Gutmann has battled Crohn’s disease for 16 years, with the last year-and-a-half especially draining due to his development of T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma.

Alexandria Boswell has won the first-ever Foster Farms West Coast Chicken Cooking Contest in a heated Final Cook Off held today at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, in California’s Napa Valley. Boswell and her Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts dish beat out more than 2,000 recipes to win the $10,000 grand prize and a one-year supply of Foster Farms fresh chicken.

Celebrate the Craft is one of Southern California’s premier showcases for regionally grown ingredients and innovative cooking and wine-making. As in years past, the celebration features the finest food artisans from across California’s broad culinary spectrum.

Try out special three-course, prix-fixe meals at more than 180 restaurants during San Diego Restaurant Week, Sept. 19-24. Prices are per person and do not include beverage, tax or gratuity.
