As Sewer and Water Job 809 along Avenida de la Playa in La Jolla Shores continues with repairs to sewer and water lines, it seems the lines of communication could also use some work. At the La Jolla Shores Association meeting March 12, concerns were raised regarding some unexplained and unexpected construction, and changes to the work schedule that were required last-minute.
Responding to community concerns about safety on the pedestrian bridge over Torrey Pines Road and the homeless population sometimes found there, San Diego Community Relations Officer Larry Hesselgesser addressed the La Jolla Shores Association (LJSA) at its March 12 meeting, revealing how the police can help with their Quality of Life Team, and how the public, in turn, can help police.

Scott Dodge has been named 2014 Irish Man of the Year and Mary Johnson as 2014 San Diego Woman of the Year by the Irish Congress of Southern California for their legendary community service. They will ride in the 34th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade Saturday, March 15 in Balboa Park.
The La Jolla Shores Association will have its annual election for eight trustees, who will serve on the community advisory board for either one- or two-year terms, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12 at 8840 Biological Grade.
Final plans for the Whale View Point Shoreline Enhancement Project, in the works for seven years, went before the La Jolla Parks and Beaches (LJP&B) community advisory committee at its Feb. 25 meeting.
