They are some of the many characters voiced by Billy West, who will make a guest appearance during the 20th annual Spike & Mike Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation, Aug. 24-Nov. 23, at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla.

Jimi Hendrix film to screen at La Jolla museum’s Shore Thing night

For one night only, July 18, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego will screen the rarely-seen 1972 Jimi Hendrix film, “Rainbow Bridge,” as part of its Shore Thing summer program at 700 Prospect St. in La Jolla.

Geisel Library to take visitors back in time with films of the La Jolla Cinema League

The screening is in conjunction with an exhibit Paulson curated about the 1920s-era cinema league, which is on display during May and June in the west wing of the library’s lower level.

La Jolla High to screen girls empowerment film

La Jolla High School will host a free screening of “Girl Rising,” a film designed to empower and educate girls through literacy, 6 p.m. Saturday, April 20, in Parker Auditorium, 750 Nautilus St.
Also screening in theaters across San Diego, “Girl Rising” tells the story of eight girls in Asia and Africa enrolled in the female education program of the nonprofit literacy organization, Room to Read.
