Carol Curtis, a local artist who teaches at the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library School of the Arts, will display her work at Girard Gourmet through July 10. Her paintings display the source of the food served at the restaurant -owners François and Diana Goedhuys' garden.
Curtis has studied drawing, pastel, oil painting and watercolor, but favors watercolor. For this project, she spent many hours at the Goedhuys' farm in Julian, capturing the plant life she saw there. She also did a painting of the couple.
Curtis will teach Watercolor for Beginners at the Athenaeum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 20-24. For more information, call (858) 454-5872 or visit www.ljathenaeum.org.
