Six-year-old La Jolla resident, Athena Tsai, recently won the grand prize for her age group in Legoland's Save Our Seas (S.O.S.) poster project. Tsai competed amongst some of San Diego's finest child artists, ranging from ages 4 to 12. Her 8-year-old sister Audrey Tsai, also qualified as a finalist.
Legoland's S.O.S. campaign helps educate people about marine life. Through the use of poster board, markers, crayons and paint, the children strove to express their view on conserving and protecting the ocean and its creatures.
Tsai's poster depicted the earth and the message "Save Our Seas!" Tsai, along with two other grand prize winners, received four annual passes with unlimited admission to Legoland California and Sea Life Aquarium for one year and their choice between an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Sea Life for the winner and his/her family or a fieldtrip for the winner's entire class.
