The film "Cassandra," by La Jolla filmmaker Mauricio Chernovetzky, has made it to the national competition for the 35th Annual Student Academy Awards. It will be traveling to Los Angeles where it will be screened for Academy members.
"Cassandra" is nominated in the "Narrative" category, where it will compete with eight other films. Should "Cassandra" advance to the final three in its category, Chernovetzky will be invited to Hollywood for a June 7 ceremony at which filmmakers will be presented with awards and cash grants.
