UCSD event for job seekers set for Aug. 26

UCSD Extension will host a free "Continuing Education and Career Showcase" for job seekers from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at UCSD Price Center Ballroom East.

"This event is helping people who have lost their jobs in shrinking sectors like construction, finance and retail to get into growing fields like health care, green jobs and accounting," said Vicki Krantz, chair of the extension program's Academic Directors Council.

Two workshops will be offered every 45 minutes. Topics will include:

- Healthcare Fundamentals: For Those Getting Started or Looking for Greater Understanding of the Industry

Exploring Your Creative Side

Career Management for Professionals

The Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Industries: Where are the Jobs?

Careers in Writing

Improve Your Marketability with Lean & Six Sigma
