The La Jolla office of Merrill Lynch is celebrating its 60th anniversary.
The office, originally known as Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Beane, opened on June 15, 1949, at 1028 Wall St. and offered investor services with the New York Stock Exchange, the New York Curb Exchange and other principal security and commodity exchanges.
Today's office, which is now at 7825 Fay Ave., has expanded its financial services to include wealth management, education planning, money market accounts, trusts, retirement planning, investment products, insurance and tax management.
Out of the 50 employees in the office, financial adviser Cliff Huffman is the longest tenured employee, having started at Merrill Lynch La Jolla in March 1973.

Advanced Marketing Strategies received two AMY awards from the San Diego Chapter of the American Marketing Association in the category of special events for the grand opening of Quechan Casino Resort and its integrated marketing campaign on behalf of IKEA Houston.
Chief Executive Officer Jim Tindaro is a La Jolla resident.
