Church offers career group

La Jolla Presbyterian Church has launched The Boardroom - a new job search resource, support and network group.

The Boardroom is a place where those in career transition can share their experience with others facing the same challenges as well as work with career mentors, find resources, network, get resume and interview tips, understand the importance of online services and social networking, and make new friends.

The first meeting, in the church's Life Center, featured a career development speaker and lunch. The meeting was free.

For more information, contact TheBoardroom@pacbell.net or call Grace Decker at (858) 638-9103.

Noonan tops again

Greg Noonan of Prudential California Realty has again been named the No. 1-selling La Jolla real estate agent with most listings sold from April 2008 through March 2009.

A 31-year veteran of the industry, Noonan has repeatedly ranked among the Top 10 of Prudential's 65,000 agents and, in 2008, the Wall Street Journal's Lore magazine recognized him as one of the Top 50 of 1.2 million agents in the country.

Weston earns accreditation

Dr. John Weston of Scripps Center for Dental Health recently achieved Accredited Fellow status in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

He joins 52 AACD Accredited Fellow member dentists and laboratory technicians in AACD history who have earned this prestigious designation. He was recognized at the organization's 25th anniversary AACD Scientific Session in Honolulu.

211 board expanding

The board of 211 San Diego, a service offering assistance with personal crises, announced the addition of Lourdes Jimenez as director of external affairs.

In addition, Melissa Hayden Cook, president and chief executive officer of Sharp Health Plan, and Scott Suckow, CEO of Mental Health America of San Diego County, have joined the board.

By dialing 211, clients work with a live call specialist to receive services and information tailored to their needs.

During a disaster or public crisis, 211 partners with the county of San Diego's Office of Emergency Services to be the central place for nonemergency information during a disaster.

Ingledew gets credential

Russell E. Ingledew, principal of Russell Ingledew CPA Inc. in La Jolla, recently received the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) credential from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

The credential is granted to qualified CPAs with considerable professional experience in financial planning who pass a comprehensive technical exam and has demonstrated more than 1,400 hours of business experience during the last five years.

Six join energy board

Six new members have joined the board of directors at the California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE), a San Diego-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting change for a clean energy future.

They include La Jollan Susan Christopher, vice president and senior adviser with Union Bank of California's Wealth Management Group.

The appointments bring the board total to 13 members. The center helps local residents, businesses and public agencies adopt greener practices and save energy and money through a variety of rebate, technical assistance and educational programs.

The other new members are Michael Akavan, founder and chief executive officer of MA Engineers; Wayne Hart, a senior faculty member with La Jolla's Center for Creative Leadership; Nick Leibham, of-counsel attorney at the international law firm K&L Gates; Lisa Shaffer, executive director of UCSD's Sustainability Solutions Institute; and Robert Wilder, founder and CEO of Wildershares, a producer of national and international economic indexes for renewable and clean energy solutions.
