San Diego’s largest independent toy retailer is growing. Geppetto’s Toys (geppettostoys.com) will open its newest location on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Westfield UTC, 4545 La Jolla Village Drive, 2013 with a grand opening party.
“We have loved being able to share the wonder and magic of creative play with families all over San Diego and to celebrate our newest location, we’re throwing a huge party and everyone is welcome,” said Brian Miller, owner.
From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, families and kids of all ages can come out and enjoy: Free kids’ crafts, Free entertainment and refreshments, Prize drawings and giveaways, and free goodie bag with various toys and games (while supplies last).
Surrounded by other family-friendly retailers in the Macy’s wing of Westfield UTC, Geppetto’s newest store will feature 1,600 square feet of imagination-inspiring toys, games and crafts. Outfitted with old-world elements such as wooden fixtures, bricks and classic lantern lighting, the store’s look reflects the timeless nature of the company’s focus on classic toys.
Owned and operated by Miller since 1992, Geppetto’s features toys and games personally hand picked and tested by Miller and his family that encourage imaginative play, multi-generational interaction and creativity.
Later this fall, the company will open its ninth location at the new “The Headquarters at Seaport District,” a retail and dining destination next to Seaport Village.
To celebrate the company’s expansion and commemorate the occasion, Geppetto’s will donate 9 percent of sales from all locations on Oct. 5 to one of four charities (consumer’s choice): Rady Children’s Hospital, Voices for Children, Big Pals Program of Jewish Family Services and KIT (Kids Included Together).
