San Diego’s largest dog-friendly and black-tie event, the 27th annual Fur Ball, took place Aug. 17, 2013 at the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA on Gaines Street. Nearly 700 people and 300 canine friends attended the gala to raise money in support of animal welfare programs and services. The evening included a cocktail reception, opportunity drawing, music, silent and live auctions, and entertainment. A touching program celebrating the animals and programs of the Humane Society accompanied a gourmet meal prepared by Chef Jeffrey Strauss of Pamplemousse Grille.
