Shots fired inside University City bank; suspected robber shot

From San Diego Police Reports

Two suspects, one male and one female, entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 8410 Genesee (at Nobel Drive) in University City at 4:54 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11. While they were attempting to rob the bank, a security guard intervened. The guard fired shots at one of the suspects, hitting him, and detained the other for police.

The suspect who was shot was seen getting into a teal-colored Honda driven by a Hispanic/Latino adult male. A short time later, the wounded suspect was dropped off at a hospital for treatment.

Robbery detectives are investigating.
