The Children’s School to host special screening of Least Among Saints to benefit Operation Homefront – California

From Children’s School Reports

The Children’s School will present a special screening of the film “Least Among Saints,” 7 p.m. Thursday,  March 21 at Digiplex Mission Valley 7 , 7510 Hazard Center Dr. #100, San Diego, to help raise awareness about the challenges veterans face returning from war. The event will also benefit Operation Homefront – California, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of service members and  wounded warriors.

A Q & A with the filmmaker, Martin Papazian, The Children’s School Head of School Evelyn Terry, and Operation Homefront – California Executive Director Jack Chirrick will take place immediately before and after the screening to engage the audience in conversation about the film and commitment to raising awareness about veterans’ issues.

Fifth- and sixth-grade students at The Children’s School in La Jolla are also conducting a “School Supplies for Saints” drive to benefit Operation Homefront – California. The drive supports children of military families who are in need of new school supplies including backpacks, notebooks, pencils, rulers, crayons, and more for school in the fall. The collection period will run from Monday, March 4 through Thursday, March 21; supplies may be delivered to The Children’s School until March 20 or brought to the film screening on March 21.

A suggested $10 donation or a contribution to the “School Supplies for Saints” drive is recommended at the door. RSVP to suppliesforsaints@gmail.com

“Least Among Saints” is an independent film focusing on a returning combat veteran’s struggle with the aftermath of his experiences during war and his quest for redemption through his service and compassion to an abandoned boy. The film was recently nominated for the PRISM award (feature film category) by the Entertainment Industries Council (EIC) and just won the AUDIENCE AWARD for Best Feature at the Sedona International Film Festival.
