The La Jolla Library Art Gallery presents a new exhibition, FACES, with 30 works by 27 area artists; reception 2-4 p.m. March 17

'Off Center Man,' by Richard Haeger

“FACES,” a juried art exhibition, is on view at the La Jolla Library/Riford Branch of the San Diego Public Library, March 16-May 17.  Featuring 30 works by 27 area artists,  the exhibition presents in paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and mixed media — spanning realism to abstraction — how artists are captured, inspired, and challenged by the image of the human face and all that it reveals.

An opening reception to meet the artists is 2-4 p.m.  Sunday, March 17 at the library, 7555 Draper Ave. The event is free and open to the public. This exhibition is made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the La Jolla Branch Library.

Artists whose works were selected are Eleanor Bell, K. D. Benton, Althea Brimm, Sally Bucko, Fran Carder, Nicole Caulfield, Emily Dinnerman, Peter Fay, Faith Fleury, Ken Goldman, Richard Haeger, Michele Jackson, Judy Judy Judy, Linda Kardoff, Dana Levine, Elissa Lieberman, Kathy McChesney, Marion Mettler, Kris Moore, Joe Nalven, Judy Pike, Heidi Rufeh, Renata Shafor, Jennifer Strulowitz, Mohan Sundaresan, Ron Tatro, and Richard Warner.

Gallery Hours: 1-5 p.m. Sundays;  9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays; 12:30-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays;
9:30 a.m. to – 5:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays; 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays. (858) 552-1657.
