Craig Sweeny, I love how you leave out the old Scripps Hospital that is now a condo complex. Our relationship with nature is changing. We now(or at least starting to) understand that we need to live in harmony with nature, I believe it would be near impossible to get permission to build a wall like that now. This misguided belief that terms of use can't evolve as our wealth of knowledge increases is tired and boring. I personally would like to see "Shared Use" work but after watching things like the video captured of two girls on the beach harassing the seals I'm starting to wonder if that can work. We as people need to learn to respect nature. Letting these animals use the beach to have their pups during the winter seems like a pretty fair compromise and well within the idea of the Children's Pool.

Mr. Sweeny, Goldsmith has a slick answer. The Pool was not in a will, only a trust, so only ethics was in his way. The still brags of his role as the Grinch who stole the Children's Pool. He ignores the fact the City is still violating the trust and if la Jollans again pool some money to get a good lawyer, he could have a problem. See, he only said he could alter the trust - he didn't say the City could then ignore it.
