La Jolla Cove Suites to be featured in Travel Channel special tonight

The La Jolla Cove Suites will be featured tonight on the Travel Channel show “Hotel Impossible” in a special titled “After Anthony.”

In the show, host Anthony Melchiorri assesses hotels in need of a revamp. In early 2012, the La Jolla Cove Suites was one of them. Melchiorri redesigned the suites in a way the owner Krista Baroudi could replicate in a cost effective way, replaced the mattresses and helped promote the rooftop deck.

In a teaser to tonight’s episode, Melchiorri said, “People ask me all the time ‘Which hotel was the most transformed?’ La Jolla Cove Suites in Southern California gets the nod.”

Since the visit, the Cove Suites has hosted 29 weddings, and Baroudi said 50 percent of clients that call mention the show.

Seven months later, Melchiorri returns to see how the hotel is doing. The episode airs on the Travel Channel at 10 p.m.
