District One, when you vote in the upcoming election, I encourage you to support Sherri Lightner as your incumbent City Council Member. I had the opportunity to see her in action just a couple of weeks ago when City Council chambers filled with members of my community (Del Cerro, San Carlos, Tierrasanta, etc.) in opposition to the Quail Brush Power Plant which a North Carolina company, Cogentrix, wants desperately to plunk down right on top of Mission Trails Regional Park. Not only did the City Council vote unanimously to oppose this project, but Sherri Lightner did us all proud by requesting that the applicant WITHDRAW their application. Cogentrix did not, but it was a breath-taking moment in an issue which affects everyone in San Diego who appreciates our treasure, Mission Trails. I was very impressed with Ms. Lightner's leadership and I hope that you will cast your vote for her in the upcoming election.
